Christine Barney

Christine is CEO and managing partner at rbb. Formerly a die-hard New Yorker, Christine was “forced” to move to Florida in 1989 for family reasons. She left her position with a large PR firm with a reluctance that was soon replaced by enthusiasm as she discovered her hidden entrepreneurial desires. She landed at Bruce Rubin Associates, a small travel and tourism firm, and in three years was partner of the newly named Rubin, Barney & Birger, a full-service marketing PR firm representing Fortune 500 brands.
Christine has a special passion for a concept she calls the “employee-driven workplace.” She believes that, when employees are empowered to do things as they see fit, great things will happen. Her approach has been validated at the highest levels of the industry, with both The Holmes Report and PRWeek referencing this management style as the driving force behind rbb’s success. National validation comes from no better a source than the Wall Street Journal naming rbb a top 30 nationwide small workplace.
Christine is just as busy at home as she is at work with three kids, three cats, a dog, fish and as she says, “the most amazing husband in the world”. She is a real home body and enjoys cooking, embroidery, reading and card games. When she goes out it is to enjoy all that Florida’s beautiful climate has to offer. Once, she even caught a fish that was as big as she is! You can probably tell from the background on her twitter page, that no bio is complete without mentioning Christine’s obsession with Christmas ornament collecting. There is a tree for every family member including the 11-footer that appeared in the Miami Herald and thousands of ornaments, taking weeks to display, fill her home each year.
